Exams and Assessment Policy

The exams and assessment policy of Momentous schools highlights the recommended system of students’ assessment. It presents a number of requirements and measures that are to be implemented in the schools. The assessment and exams should be comprehensive and based on students’ learning outcomes in achieving the benchmarks.
These points can be used to measure the efficiency of the individual students’ performance.

  • The academic year is divided into TWO terms. Exams and assessment also need to be implemented in TWO terms (Mid and Final), as mentioned in the yearly plan and academic calendar. The formative assessment used as final exams, it will be considered the milestone to promote to the next educational step/grade.
  • Each child’s progress is observed and recorded on the progress report (provided).
  • Schools and class teachers are free to conduct summative assessment and classroom tests as they required to ensure learning. By learning, here, means the achievement of learning outcomes and not rote memorization.
  • Additional assessment tools like worksheets and activities can be developed according to the need of the students and classroom. The assessment tools should be aligned with the curriculum framework.
  • The results of the exams must be prepared and submitted in the due time as mentioned in academic calendar.
  • Awarding positions on the basis of marks or performance is discouraged for momentous schools’ setup. The report will only mention the grades in A+, A, B, C and D on the basis of performance of the students.
  • Attendee of the students is important for the overall assessment.
  • Assessment procedure will be uniform across all the schools.
  • Examination system shall be made standardized and credible through proper monitoring in the exam halls.
  • Schools will be responsible for the capacity building of the teachers in order to implement the exams and assessment policy.
  • There will be no change in the exam portion or the change in the date sheets upon individual requests from the parents.
  • Students who have been absent from the exams will not be given a chance of re-exam.
  • Parents will have right to receive and discuss the papers with teachers or the principals.
  • Exam marking will not be challenged but parents can talk about a question (s) that has not been marked.
  • Momentous Schools’ Exam and Assessment Policy finds its roots from international standards of exam policy.

Pre-Primary:

  • Pre-Primary Learning will be asses through the teachers observing students on continuous basis at the given concept in Student Holistic Portfolio.
  • Teachers will maintain continuous Assessments record on comprehensive sheet in Students Files and report to the parents when they come to attend the PTM however Head Office will only provide one written assessment of all subjects for midterm and final term (If needed).
  • Students Holistic Portfolio will be provided by the Head Office in soft and all record of students will maintain in Students Files.
  • In every area of learning parents will be apprised of the progress of their children’s during the PTM, based on
    the record of Students Files. Formal Students File will go out at the end of the year only.

 

Our principal aim is to promote children’s learning. The assessment lies at the heart of the learning that helps student gather the knowledge about the subject and yield learning. The purpose of exams and assessment is to ensure the achievement of students’ learning outcomes to promote them to the next educational step as per their need.
